Wipro, a global technology services firm, has appointed Srikumar Rao as the Global Head of its Engineering Edge practice. Based in Bengaluru, Rao will be responsible for overseeing the company’s engineering solutions and capabilities. Rao expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I feel privileged to lead Wipro’s Engineering Edge business and look forward to broadening our market presence.”

Rao, a 26-year veteran of Wipro, has held numerous leadership roles, with experience in engineering and research and development services across software, technology, semiconductors, manufacturing, and telecom. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Engineering Edge and Global Head of Embedded Systems.

Wipro’s CEO and Managing Director, Srini Pallia, praised Rao’s leadership journey, emphasizing his technological expertise and client-centric approach, which have significantly enhanced Wipro’s engineering operations. “Srikumar’s journey from a campus recruit to various leadership positions makes him the ideal fit for this role. His contributions have resulted in industry-leading customer satisfaction and key deals across sectors,” Pallia added.

Rao succeeds Harmeet Chauhan, who is leaving Wipro to pursue external opportunities. Rao and Chauhan will collaborate until early October to ensure a smooth transition​.
